Maintenance Tip

It is recommended that the shredders cutting chamber (all Shred-Tech MDS systems) be inspected for loose knives, after a full day of operation and especially after the cutting chamber has been disturbed for maintenance.

Prolonged and difficult shreds may cause the stack tension to relieve. MDS operators should consider tensioning both shredder shafts at such a time.

A complete description of "how to" can be found in the operators manual or training DVD, which accompanies each Shred-Tech MDS System (Note all Safety warnings when working around moving parts)

If you have any questions about the service tip above, please contact the Shred-Tech Service Hotline at 877-566-2345.

New systems unveiled at NAID 2006!

Shred-Tech will be introducing two new Mobile Document Destruction Systems at NAID, the MDS-25GTX and the MDS-35GT2.

The MDS-25GTX is an improved version of the tried and tested, industry leading MDS-25GT. The "X" version of the 25GT adds an extra 1,000 lbs. of throughput capacity and an extra 1,000 lbs. of payload capacity, raising throughput and payload to 4,000 -5,000 lbs/hr and 10,000 lbs. respectively.

Shred-Tech's MDS-35GT2, outfitted on a tandem axle chassis, allows for a legal payload capacity of up to 19,000 lbs., while still processing at rates in excess of 6,000 lbs/hr. This is the most profitable Mobile Document Destruction System on the market today.

The Evolution of Document Destruction Systems

David Yamamoto, head engineer of Shred-Tech's research and development team, will discuss the evolution of Mobile and Stationary Destruction Systems on Tuesday, May 16th at 8:00 a.m. at the Arizona Biltmore during NAID's annual conference.

This presentation is a summary of the forces of change behind the development of more productive systems in the Secure Document Destruction Industry. Some of those forces relate to document security, ease of material handling, payload, throughput, serviceability, waste byproducts, changing material feed stock and its containerization, unloading alternatives, reliability, health and safety, shred size, controls and maximizing platform utilization.
